Hello all from Melbourne, I am new to this forum today, I hope you don't mind me posting in English - i can use a translator if this is more suitable?
My father had a Wrenn formula 152 slot car set - when I was very young I tried to play with it however I lacked the necessary understanding of the principles of the cars and the maintenance of the track.
So - I suppose like a lot of the older slot car sets - it fell into disrepair and was replaced by a Scalextrix set.
Recently my interest has been re-ignited and I have acquired some track and cars, and begun repairing them and setting up test tracks. This is going well so far. I have 10 working cars now and probably 100 pieces of cleaned and tested track. I am using a 16vAC power supply of 1.25Amps which was readily available in a local electronics store.
My working in hearing aid manufacturing has enabled me to re-manufacture new brushes for the cars, and enable me to examine the workings of the motors, where simple problems can be found and fixed using a microscope
I have found however that - by far - the biggest step forward was buying some tyres from Bruno. I had read on other internet articles that the hardening of the rubber tyres causes lack of forward motion - and now I can confirm its probably the biggest problem of all. New tyres on the cars has been fantastic - and I thanks Bruno for the card which also had the forum details!
I certainly have admired Svens collection and his fantastic track layout!
I will post pictures as I progress with the restoration work. Kind Regards to all, Anthony
